Safe Living Association (The Association) is a 501c3 non-profit corporation that promotes general awareness and greater sensitivity among hearing people as to the support needs and safety concerns of deaf, hard of hearing, and visually disabled people. Founded by Barth Doroshuk after his own experience with profound hearing loss in 2006, The Association strives to provide education and support in the areas of personal safety.
Safe Living Association, through different training and tutoring programs, works to improve the understanding and cooperation between those who face hearing and vision challenges, and those who do not. The Association will provide educational assistance as well as scholarships and will work toward establishing community partnerships to enhance the "deaf friendliness" of the world around us.
